These boots are made for women who like to live fully and not hurt in the process! I like to walk fast, I like to feel comfortable, and I like to look and feel great. While I have only used my laceup Ariat boots (not these) for riding, I'm sure I'd ride just as well in these. And these are even more comfortable than my laceups. They are also more comfortable, suportive, and better built than my Nike sneakers! I've walked 14 miles straight in these boots, on pavement, no problem. Why? The technology that goes into making these is phenomenal in my opinion. And I'm not easy to impress with feet ruined by going "on toe" in ballet in only the third grade. Seriously, I have feet that can hurt me every day if not properly cared for. These boots give my feet the support they need and absorb the shock so that my body doesn't have to. I love that I can rely on them for comfort and support. I don't know what I'd ever do without them. Thanks Ariat! Fine product. I've had mine for years and still love them. It's nice that they are actually in style now, but if Western boots fall out of fashion in the Northeast again, I don't care - I'll still be wearing these!

I bought these boots on the strength of Adriene D.'s 2008 review. Frankly, I was skeptical, but the boots have more than lived up to the raves she gave them. SO comfortable, and they just slip on and off with no effort. They also seem to be *very* good quality boots -- not like those often flimsy department store styles. Also, I wear a wide width, so it's tough to find shoes and boots that fit properly. These couldn't fit any better! I ordered them the day after Christmas and here I am in early January; I've packed my funky old snow boots in the closet and just wear these puppies out in the snow and ice and salt of downtown Chicago. They're *awesome*!! I am 100% an Ariat fan from this day forward! Must...buy...more...boots!!!

Have been searching for a pair of cowboy boots for a long time. After getting a pair of Ariat shoes, thought their boots would be a good fit. They are! Very comfortable for long periods of wearing and walking. I agree with a former review, order 1/2 size smaller.
